Hello All - Apologies. I'm not as computer savvy as you are. I'm trying to move my Thunderbird emails from a Windows PC over to a 2019 iMac. The emails have sentimental value. Sonic adventure 2 download crohasit.
- Thunderbird 45 will continue to work with Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 but will not receive any further updates or security fixes. Thunderbird 45 can be downloaded from here. First pick the folder for your locale and then download the package.
- Click on the OS X installation of your choice to continue. Once the download is completed, the disk image may open by itself and mount a new volume which contains the Thunderbird application. If you do not see the new volume, double-click the Thunderbird dmg icon to open it. A Finder window appears, containing the Thunderbird application.
Thunderbird Mac Os
I've been searching this forum for the past two weeks trying to figure this out on my own. There's a video and a file (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer) that explain the migrating process; I've followed these instructions 7 or 8 times without any success. I've gone in and deleted all traces of Thunderbird from the iMac before each new migration attempt. I replace the profile file with what should be the correct profile file, but the newly installed Thunderbird doesn't 'see' the old local mailboxes and instead prompts me to create a new account.

I was successful years ago in moving my Thunderbird account from one PC to another. This current situation is throwing me for a loop. It is probably something ridiculously easy that you will think everyone knows about, but clearly I don't. Thanks so *very* much for your help.

Publisher's Description
First auto tune rapper. Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that 'plays nice' with the browser.

As a long time version 3.0 beta tester, I'm glad to see it reach the final version.
The search everywhere is a good feature and there is a switch to let Spotlight search messages. The combined inbox is useful and the migration tool takes care of that. Integration with Mac OS X isn't seamless, but the Mac OS X Address Book can be accessed in the Address Book list.
The migration tool made a security change which may or may not annoy: it wanted me to use a master password and each time you start the browser it asks for that password.
A sticking point for me is that the Lightning extension is still in beta test and wasn't ready for use with Thunderbird version 3.0.

Pretty solid - not bad at all.
Wish it would do on the fly spell checking like Apple Mail does, and also had the same kind of right-mouse button menu options as Apple Mail does (look up in dictionary, look up in google, etc.)
It does have newsgroup support, but I do wish it allowed you to set it so it did not abbreviate newsgroup names.
Still, all in all, so far, so good.
